TVLine: Castle Recap: Everybody Comes to Rick's

TV News, Previews, Spoilers, Casting Scoop, Interviews
thumbnail Castle Recap: Everybody Comes to Rick's
Jan 8th 2013, 07:40

This week on Castle‘s winter premiere, three proved to be very much a crowd when Rick’s ex-wife Meredith came for a visit. But was it what the Deep-Fried Twinkie left behind — a question in Kate’s mind — that will ultimately pull a thread and unravel Caskett?

THE CASE | Michelle Twohey, a successful divorce attorney, was the victim, and the first real break in the case came when it was discovered that Cory, her grieving beau, was actually Noah, an ex-military intel grunt hired to get close to the lady litigator. Noah’s employer was Billy Piper, a golf great (played by Jack Wagner) whose career had been tarnished years prior by accusations that he killed his wife Leanne. Michelle had stumbled upon evidence in that case, and Billy wanted to know how much she knew. Leanne, though, was actually alive — she had faked her death/framed Billy as a wife-killer to escape a scandalous divorce/get in a final jab. Michelle had discovered this, so Leanne snuck into the back of her car and killed her.

THE CASKETT | Kate staying at Rick’s because her place is being fumigated? Nice. Meredith crashing there to tend to sick Alexis? Not nice. And whether Rick should have permitted it was the recurring topic. Kate contended to Rick that she have given him “her look” when she claimed to be OK with the arrangement, while Lanie warned her gal pal that, given Rick and Mer’s history of “ex sex,” she needed to mark her territory: “This is a war, and you are losing.”

Rick goes to send Meredith packing, but she keeps interrupting him to say all the right (but wrong) things, about how nice it is that Beckett is so secure in their relationship (“She gets it!”), and how much it means to be there for Alexis in a time of need (“I’ll never forget this!”). Later, RySposito warn Rick that he threw “gasoline on fireworks” by signing off on this menage à trouble. Castle’s solution: To set him and Kate up at the Four Seasons! But Kate says that Meredith should be the one relocating. When Rick worries it’d seem heartless to shuffle her off to a hotel, Kate counters: “You just tried to send me to one! Button up, kitten — we’re going home.”

The next morning, Meredith comes downstairs in skimpy sleepwear, then manages to greet Rick with a fresh cup of a special nutmegged java that was their “thing” for after (work? pleasure?) all-nighters. At the precinct, Kate sarcastically snarks to Rick, “Why would I be upset? Because your ex is so comfortable around your home, and she knows things about you that I don’t?” Nonetheless, Kate insists she can handle the sitch — and even accepts a dinner invite from Meredith.

This, of course — and with no help from Esposito and Ryan — sends Rick into a tailspin. “Is this as bad as it seems?” he asks his buds. “Much worse,” they insist. “Deadly. Worlds colliding” George Costanza-style and all that. Kate herself taunts Rick, saying, “What are you worried about? Two women who’ve been intimate with you, comparing notes?”

“What notes…?”

Kate and Meredith put on a cruel little show when they finally return to Rick’s. Then, in private, Beckett shares with her man, “I actually like you a bit more now…. But she never stays here again.” They fall into a long-ish kiss, only to get interrupted by work. At the end of the hour, after solving the case, they bid Meredith adieu — Alexis rushed her mom off to Paris — but not before Kate can bend Mer’s ear about why she and Rick didn’t work out.

“Being married to Rick was great, like a sweet souffle,” the redhead started. But over time, she realized he knew everything about her, while she didn’t know enough about her husband to fill a pamphlet — including when she would bring up Rick’s MIA dad. “It wasn’t enough for me,” she said. “Souffles are wonderful, but they always fall.” And those semi-cautionary words seemed to stick with Kate as she looked at her beau, her brow a bit wrinkled. Is the mystery writer too much of a mystery himself?

Hollywood Life: ‘Teen Mom 2′ Recap — Corey Confesses He’s Still In Love With Leah

Jan 8th 2013, 05:59

On tonight’s episode of ‘Teen Mom 2,’ Jenelle realizes she moved in too quickly with her boyfriend Josh. Kailyn reconnects with her half sister, and Chelsea tries to get Aubree to use a big girl potty — read on for the full recap!

Even though Corey Simms and Leah Messer‘s divorce has been finalized for a couple months, the single dad revealed in the Jan. 7 episode of Teen Mom 2 that he still has feelings for his ex, and he wants to give their relationship another shot.

Leah & Corey Talk Getting Back Together

Corey texts Leah and tells her their divorce was a mistake and that he misses her– and Leah decides this is important information to share with her new boyfriend Jeremy Calvert. Jeremy insists that Corey is the one who let his family go, but Leah is still curious if there is any spark left in their failed relationship.

When Leah talks with Corey in person, he says again that he still has feelings for her. ”When you’re ex-wife gives you butterflies, you might be in love once and for all,” Corey says. So Leah meets up with her trusted friend Kayla to decide what she wants from her relationship with her ex.

“I’ll alawys love Corey,” she said, but if they were to try and give their relationship another chance, Leah knows it will be much harder work than she’s prepared to put in — and she is worried she’ll be pushed way again.

When the exes meet up to exchange the girls a couple days later, Leah tries to find out what Corey is thinking once and for all. She told him she never stopped loving Corey, even after the divorce, but their relationship would be too hard.

“I’m going to move on if I have to,” Leah said, clearly talking about her new beau Jeremy. But Corey is still unsure if their relationship is worth fighting for, and doesn’t know how to deal with all of his feelings.

“I wish divorce wasn’t ever freaking invented,” Corey says through tears. In the meantime Leah is going to keep seeing Jeremy and work on being the best mom to her girls. Leah’s parents agree.

Chelsea Tries Potty Training Aubree

Chelsea Houska is super close has two more GED tests to take, and will only need to take two more after that to be finished. Even though she and Adam aren’t talking at the time, she is more focused on school and her daughter Aubree than Adam drama.

After taking her remaining GED test, Chelsea decides to get to work on potty training her daughter — and buys a training potty to use at home! When they get home, Chelsea decides the best way to get Aubree excited about using a potty is to start a chart of achievements. Every time she goes to the bathroom in the potty, she will get a star on her chart which hangs proudly on the fridge next to Chelsea’s GED scores!

But when the potty gets set in the living room — which makes sense, naturally — Aubree HATES it, and whines and throws it across the room! It looks like the single mom has her work cut out for her.

After an agonizing wait, Chelsea finally gets her GED results for the Social Studies and Reading tests — and she passed those too! No Chelsea just needs two more tests and she’s that much closer to her beauty school dreams.

Jenelle Moves In With Boyfriend Josh & Regrets It

Following a big blowout fight with her mom Barbara Evans, Jenelle Evans moves in with her new boyfriend Josh. But after just a few days together, she realizes their relationship might not work out. She finds Josh annoying, immature and just wants to focus on getting her son Jace back.

Jenelle has a candid mother moment when she goes on an adorable outing with her son Jace. They went pumpkin picking, and Jenelle tells Barbara that she is ready to have more alone time with Jace — and wants him to stay over at her and Josh’s house. But that suggestion turns into yet another yelling argument, and Jenelle storms out.

She claims her mood swings have been out of control since the fight with her mom, and her new medicine that has made her feel queazy. When Barbara and Jace come over to pick her up for their family outing, Jenelle bails — and Barbara throws another fit.

Jenelle confides in Josh that her past is starting to have major consequences on her present and future. “I’m so sick of going back and forth,” she revealed, and she just wants some stability for herself and for Jace. Even as she cries into Josh’s arms, it’s clear she knows that moving in with him so soon wasn’t the best idea.

Kailyn Meets Her Half-Sister In Austin

Kailyn Lowry flew to Austin to spend time with her cousin and family — and even gets a chance to meet her half-sister Mikayla. They look and sound so much alike, it’s clear they are related! Mikayla also doesn’t have anything to do with their dad and doesn’t want him in their life — and Kailyn has no desire to see him again.

After bonding with her sister and her cousin, Kailyn really starts to reflect on her life in Pennsylvania and how she doesn’t have any other family there, besides baby Isaac, especially after severing ties with her mom. Kailyn says as much as she cares for Mikayla, it’s hard for her to fill the role as big sis shoes when she lives so far away.

Even with Kailyn’s ex and baby daddy Jo still living in Pennsylvania, she contemplates moving down to Texas just for a little bit. She really thinks she and Isaac could have a good life there — but he doesn’t want to tear her son away from his dad.

The only thing tying her back to the East Coast is her baby daddy — but that’s all about to change next week!

Hollywood Life: ‘RHOBH’: Brandi Glanville Finally Confronts Ex-Husband’s Mistress

Latest Hollywood Gossip, News & Celeb Pics

Jan 8th 2013, 05:57

Brandi finally comes face-to-face with the woman who slept with her ex-husband which Brandi says led to her marriage ending and fracturing her entire family. Read on for details!

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville is not at a loss for words and on the latest episode which airs Jan 7, she finally sits down face-to-face with Scheana Marie, a SUR waitress who slept with her ex-husband Eddie Cibrian. Brandi says the infidelity ultimately ended her marriage and ruined her family.

In an awkward encounter to say the least, the two women chatted it up at 52-year-old Lisa Vanderpump‘s SUR Lounge where the they were nothing but catty towards one another.

“I just have so much I need to get off my chest with you,” Scheana says to Brandi. “I’m shaking right now.”

Will Brandi Play Nice And Forgive Scheana For Sleeping With Eddie?

Scheana, 27, appeared to be giving an honest and heartfelt apology and even began crying, but Brandi didn’t think so and stops her dead in her tracks.

“Don’t cry, really,” Brandi, 40, says with the most evil look in her eyes. “I lost my family. I lost everything that I had. So if anyone’s going to cry here it’s not going to be you.”

It didn’t stop there. Scheana went on, telling Brandi how Eddie, 39, told her he loved her and bought her diamonds and took her on trips around the world.

Perhaps Scheana shouldn’t have said that because Brandi let her claws out, literally, telling Scheana that “I know that you were fu**ing my husband, I get that.”

Furthermore, Brandi made the mistress feel beneath her by taunting her and implying she’s just a waitress and a “star fu**ker.”

The claws did subside, however. After the two women both cry their eyes out, Brandi surprisingly accepts Scheana’s apology and walks over to her, touches her on the shoulder and simply says, “Good luck.”

Now we’re not sure if Brandi honestly meant that, but it’s kind gesture to say the least.

Sound off, HollywoodLifers. Do you think Brandi truly forgives Scheana?

Hollywood Life: ‘The Bachelor’ Recap: Sean Lowe Finds His Bride On Season Premiere

Hollywood Life
Latest Hollywood Gossip, News & Celeb Pics
thumbnail 'The Bachelor' Recap: Sean Lowe Finds His Bride On Season Premiere
Jan 8th 2013, 03:44

Sean makes his mark on ‘The Bachelor,’ as he meets his contestants — including his future bride!

Sean Lowe made his highly anticipated debut as The Bachelor on Jan. 7, and what a season premiere it was! There was kissing, heart breaking, and romantic whisperings — and that was just between Sean and Arie Luyendyk Jr.! After a pep talk from his former rival, Sean began his journey by whittling down the 26 contestants to just 19, which was no easy feat considering they were all gorgeous, all hysterical and all dying to be his future wife.

Sean Meets The Contestants

Sean, a finalist on the latest season of The Bachelorette, had his heart broken by Emily Maynard when she failed to pick him as her fiancé. But now it is his turn to hand out the roses! Sean looked cute and nervous as limo after limo of beautiful girls arrived to meet him. My personal favorite was when Robyn from Texas took a nasty tumble when trying to cartwheel her way to Sean. She quite literally fell head over heels!

And then there was the game changer! Sean decided to give rumored villain Tierra a rose before the rose ceremony even began! And the other girls were not impressed. I call her as this season’s Courtney Robertson.

It was impressive that so many of the girls tried different tactics to be rememberable. There were football plays, gymnastics, and 50 Shades of Grey. Perhaps the best tactic was Lindsay‘s prop, as Sean looked visibly scared when she arrived in a full white wedding dress! The season looked like it was over before it had even begun, as he had a ready made bride. And Sean lit up when his rumored fiance Catherine emerged from her car, as he told her “you look beautiful.”

And who could forget the return of Kacie Boguskie! HollywoodLife.com previously reported that Ben Flajnik‘s former love interest would be returning for this season, and she looks like she is not planning on going home fiance-less this time.

Sean Hands Out The Roses

After Sean met all the ladies, he began handing out roses in the mansion. Tensions were running high as certain girls — the forward ones — were getting roses, while other girls — the drunk, crazy ones — were not. It looked like poor Lindsay‘s wedding dress plan backfired, as she failed to get a rose from Sean. And I loved it when Sean said the 50 Shades of Grey girl had become “50 shades of drunk”. At least she still has her tie to keep her warm at night!

With more fake tan, hairspray and false lashes than one would see in a Miss America pageant, these girls clearly meant business. Bachelor host Chris Harrison announced the rose ceremony, and the wheat was separated from the chaff.

Sean picked his final 19 girls, and thank the dear sweet lord Lindsay got a rose! Meanwhile, Ashley H. and Paige did not make it through — but let’s face it, the right girls have won! This season looks like it is going to be explosive.

What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Do you think Sean makes a good Bachelor? Do you think he picked the right girls?

Deception debuted Monday night, spinning a tale of lies, secrets and murder — but did the NBC mystery hook you?

RELATED | NBC Execs Talk Revolution Hiatus, Plan for ‘Unique’ Hannibal, The Voice Concerns and More

Before you unleash your snappy judgments on the series premiere, a refresher: Detective Joanna (Californication‘s Meagan Good) grew up alongside the wealthy Bowers family as the housekeeper’s kid and counted eldest daughter Vivian as her best friend — until they had a falling out and stopped talking to each other. Twenty years later, the rich party girl has been found dead of an apparent overdose — but was it really homicide?

Joanna is tapped by FBI agent Will Moreno (Breakout Kings‘ Laz Alonso) — who’s also her former partner/one-time boyfriend — to find out what really happened by infiltrating the Bowers clan, which is full of suspects. First, there’s powerful, but heartbroken Spy Daddy patriarch Robert (Alias‘ Victor Garber) and stepmom Sophia (Justified‘s Katherine LaNasa) — who, trust us, will make Victoria Grayson look sweet in future episodes. Then, there’s their children: Sons Edward (Damages‘ Tate Donovan), who was trying to get his sis written out of the will, and Julian (True Blood‘s Wes Brown), who was Joanna’s teenage love; as well as snarky daughter Mia (Gossip Girl‘s Ella Rae Peck).

RELATED | NBC Boss Addresses Days of Our Lives‘ Future: ‘It’s Not Going Anywhere’

After hearing Joanna’s fake sob story — she’s trying to start over after an abusive relationship — Robert invites her to stay at the family’s home while she looks for a job. That makes looking for what she’s really after much easier. She quickly discovers a sex tape that reveals that her former friend was pregnant before she died. (In another scene, Mia notes that her sis was kicking her drug habit.)

“It’s going to be different this time. It’s going to be on your terms, Vivian,” says the mystery man in the video. Turns out, when teenage Joanna ratted out Viv to her dad — which ended their friendship — the socialite wasn’t on drugs, she was preggers. She then was shipped off to a place for unwed mothers to quietly give birth; unbeknownst to Mia, the sister she loved was really her mother.

Meanwhile, a tabloid reporter tells the detective that Vivian had come to him with a big scoop: Her family’s new cancer drug, developed by Julian, wasn’t all that it was being cracked up to be and was actually responsible for quite a few deaths. And did we mention that the younger Bowers son — who’s clearly still hung up on Joanna — has a ring that matches the bruise on his dead sis’ cheek and finishes the pilot crying to Bon Iver as he tosses the piece of jewelry into a lake? Does that make him too obvious of a suspect? Regardless, Joanna’s cushy new gig at Bowers Pharmaceuticals should help piece together this mystery.

Now it's your turn, TVLiners: Hit the poll below to let us know what grade you give Deception, then hit the comments with your conspiracy theories! And if you missed the series premiere, watch the full pilot below.
